Charlotte Davis

Status: looking for family

Charlotte Davis was the third eldest child of Hannah Slingluff and Charles Davis, following her elder siblings John and Elizabeth. The Davis family portraits were discovered at Blue Peacock Antiques in Winchester, VA - this was a family that liked to have their photos taken!

Charlotte was born in 1871 and raised in Lower Providence Township, Montgomery County, PA. In the 1900 census, she is still living with her parents, and working as a school teacher. Unfortunately, 1920 is the last census Charlotte would appear in.

In the spring of 1926, Charlotte was walking along the road with two of her sisters on the Butler Pike outside of Ambler, PA where Charlotte’s school was located. A man drove by in a taxi cab, hitting Charlotte and her sister; their third sister, Elizabeth, jumped out of the way just in time. Charlotte, on the other hand, sustained a fractured skull and succumbed to her injuries in Chestnut Hill Hospital.

Charlotte left behind no descendants.

Charlotte is buried in Saint Paul’s Episcopal Cemetery in Oaks, PA. She was 55.
